George H. & Laura E. Brown Library
The mission of Brown Library is to serve the reading, research and information needs of the Washington and Beaufort County area. Brown Library houses 50,000 items (books, audio cassettes, CDs, DVDs, and video recordings) and numerous computers for patron use. Its automated services include "Intelligent Catalogs" with ready access to all items by title, subject, author, and keyword. Selections include best sellers, time-honored classics and a large collection from the mystery genre.

Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees meets the third Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. (Please call 252-946-4300 to confirm meeting schedule.) It is an advisory board appointed by Washington City Council to advise on library policy and programming. The library board is made up of six members.
