Load Management Technician – Electric


Organizes, coordinates, and installs the devices for the electric load management system.  Work involves performing and monitoring all points of delivery and load management devices in commercial and residential buildings for electric load management practices and capabilities.  Also participates in equipment and materials acquisition for the load management program.  Graduation from high school with experience as an electrician or HVAC technician; or an equivalent.  Requires possession of a limited or residential dwelling (SP-SFD) electrical license in the state of North Carolina and valid NCDL.

 
Salary Grade:  16
Minimum Starting Salary:  $29,041

Part-time Library Desk Clerk - Brown Library


Approximately 12-18 hours per week including nights and weekends.  Will perform circulation desk routines and shelving duties.  Requires HS diploma or equivalent, good interpersonal skills, ability to deal effectively with the public, and good clerical skills including typing and computer keyboarding.  Some experience in automated systems and knowledge of Dewey Decimal Classification System is preferred. 


Pay Rate:  $7.25/hr.

Part-time Aquatic/Fitness Instructor – Parks and Recreation


Water Aerobics instructor with prior experience teaching and/or developing aquatic fitness programs.  Requires American Red Cross CPR & First Aid certified or able to obtain.  Hours are  Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. during the summer months)

 
Pay Rate:  $9.00/hr.

Police Officer


Performs general duty law enforcement work to protect life and property in the City.  Work includes patrolling the City during assigned shift in a police car or on foot; preventing, detecting and investigating disturbances and crime; performing traffic control work; apprehending suspects; and executing related assignments.  High school graduate or equivalent.  Possession of a Basic Law Enforcement Certification or currently enrolled in training program.  Valid NCDL driver’s license. Thorough background investigation.  Physical exam, psychological exam and drug screen required.

  
Salary Grade:  17  
Salary Range:  $30,493 - $45,130 depending upon experience and qualifications*
