Thank you for your interest in employment with the City of Washington.  A City of Washington Application for Employment and Applicant Control Sheet must be submitted for each position vacancy for which you would like to be considered.   These forms may be printed and returned to:

Position Vacancies

Police Officer - Police 

 
Performs general duty law enforcement work to protect life and property in the City. Work includes patrolling the City during assigned shift in a police car or on foot; preventing, detecting and investigating disturbances and crime; performing traffic control work; apprehending suspects; and executing related assignments.  High school graduate or equivalent. Possession of a Basic Law Enforcement Certification or currently enrolled in training program. Valid NC driver’s license. Thorough background investigation. Physical exam, psychological exam and drug screen required. 

 Hiring range $31,085 - $43,815 depending upon qualifications, plus benefits,with 5% pay increase after successful completion of 12-month probationary period.
