City of Washington Holiday Schedule
City offices and facilities are closed, and some services may be curtailed, on the following holidays:
- New Year's Day (observed on Monday if holiday falls on a weekend)
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- Good Friday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day (observed on Monday if holiday falls on a weekend)
- Labor Day
- Veterans Day
- Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday)
- Christmas (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Holidays may be observed on Friday and/or Monday if the actual holiday falls on a weekend.)
In addition, some facilities may experience reduced hours or early closings on the eve of a holiday.
