The Training Division manages the training programs for the Department's career and volunteer personnel ranging from state mandated training in firefighting, hazardous materials response, rescue technician, fire prevention inspections, public fire and life safety education, incident command, and emergency medical care. These various levels of training and certifications allow our Department to maintain a highly trained staff of both career and volunteer personnel to stay on the leading edge of fire service.
The Division handles the process of recruiting, hiring, and training new employees for the Department. As part of the recruitment process, the Division manages an apprenticeship program through the North Carolina Department of Labor and an internship through the Beaufort County School System which allows high school students to be trained and work within the fire service while attending school to create interest and job opportunities upon graduation.
